Government issues guidelines for Holi

The impact of growing Corona infection will be seen on Holi and other festivals. On 28 and 29 March, the government has issued guidelines regarding the Holi festival. Only 50 percent people will be allowed to be present at Holika Dahan and Holi Milan program sites. This number will not exceed 100. There will be a complete ban on playing Holi in the Containment Zone. Holi will be celebrated inside the houses there.

Chief Secretary Om Prakash has issued the above guidelines to all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Director General of Police, Garhwal and Kumaon Mandalayukta and District Magistrates. Holi festival and festivals are conditionally permitted. It has been requested to women and men over 60 years of age, children below 10 years and people suffering from serious illness to refrain from participating. Unnecessary crowd gathering will not be done. Wearing masks and observing safe physical distance will be mandatory for all participating individuals. Instructions have been given to avoid playing Holi in public places and to celebrate Holi inside the houses.

Thermal scanning, sanitizer will be arranged at the entrance of the Holi ceremony. No alcoholic beverages, loud music, loud speakers will be used in public places. It is advised to avoid playing Holi on the narrow roads and streets.

Disposable glass and utensils will be used to avoid distribution of food items and drinking water. Proper arrangement of dustbin at the venue will be mandatory for the organizers. Apart from Holi, this system will also be applicable to other festivals.
