Banking hours reduced for customers in Uttarakhand as corona cases surge

In the state today i.e. from Friday, all banks will open for customers from ten in the morning to two in the afternoon. Apart from this, by four o’clock, the bank workers will do their work. The State Level Bankers Committee has sent information in this regard to all banks. Officials of bank unions have welcomed the decision.

In view of the situation arising out of Corona infection, the timing of banks has also been changed. The State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) has decided to open a bank for general customers from 10 am to 2 pm. After this, the bank employees will close the cash till 4 o’clock in addition to cash matching and other work. This order will be effective from 23 April and will be in force till 15 May.

Apart from this, administrative offices will be staffed with 50 percent employees. Samadarshi Barathwal, convenor of the United Forum of Bank Unions, said that he had written a letter to the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary, requesting to determine the timing of the banks. He has welcomed this decision of SLBC.
