Electricity rates increased in Uttarakhand

During the Corona period, the electricity department has dealt a major blow to consumers. Electricity has become expensive in Uttarakhand. For those who consume more electricity, the time has come to save electricity. Domestic and commercial rates of electricity have been increased in the state. A new list of electricity tariffs for the year 2021-22 has been released by the Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission. According to this, domestic consumers who spend more than 101 units of electricity will now have to pay more amount than before.

According to the new electricity tariff, domestic consumers, who spend 101 to 200 units of electricity per month, will now have to pay the bill at the rate of four rupees per unit. Earlier the rate of this tariff was 3 rupees 75 paise per unit. Similarly, consumers using 201 to 400 units of electricity will have to pay Rs. 5.50 per unit instead of Rs. 5.15 per unit. 35 paise per unit has been increased for this category. Those who spend more than 400 units of electricity will have to pay Rs 6.25 per unit instead of 5.90.

There is no change in tariff for BPL category consumers. Apart from this, there has also been no increase in the tariff of domestic consumers spending up to 100 units per month. As before, the bill will be charged at the rate of two rupees eighty paise per unit. The tariff of 50 units per month has also not been increased. Consumers up to 25 kW in the commercial category will now have to pay Rs 5.80 per unit instead of Rs 5.75. Consumers above 25 kilo watts will be billed at the rate of five rupees eighty paise per unit. For consumers using more than 75 kilowatts of electricity, the rate of electricity has been fixed at 5 rupees 75 paise per unit. Those who pay the bill electronically within ten days of the bill’s issuance will be given a rebate of 1.25 percent on the total bill excluding tax. Cash, check will be given a discount of 0.75 percent on payment within 10 days.
