Amazon India launches free video streaming service

Amazon, one of the world’s largest e-commerce companies, has launched a miniTV streaming platform for Indian users. With the launch of this new streaming platform, Amazon now has two video entertainment platforms including Prime Video. MiniTV is completely free and does not require a separate app, whereas Prime Video requires Prime Subscription. Prime Video offers a collection of Amazon original, latest movies and TV shows in English and 9 Indian languages. Prime video can be streamed on the big screen on the app or at home.

MiniTV is available on Amazon’s shopping app for Android phones. The company says that in the coming months MiniTV will also be launched on iOS App and Mobile Web. Amazon said, “With the launch of MiniTV, Amazon.in is offering the convenience of customers to shop, pay as well as watch free entertainment videos from millions of products on the shopping app.”

In the press release issued by the company, it was told that MiniTV has professionally created and curated content in web-series, food, tech news, comedy shows, beauty, fashion etc. The list includes leading studios such as – TVF, Pocket Aces and leading comedians – Ashish Chanchalani, Amit Bhadana, Round 2 Hell, Harsh Beniwal, Shruti Arjun Anand, Elvish Yadav, Prajakta Koli, Swagger Sharma, Akash Gupta and Nishant Tanwar.

Amazon also said, “Viewers will be informed on latest products and trends by tech expert Trakin Tech, fashion and beauty experts such as Sejal Kumar, Malvika Sitlani, Jovita George, Prerna Chhabra and ShivShakti. Food lovers can enjoy content from Kabita’s Kitchen, Cook with Nisha, and Gobble. In the coming months, miniTV will add many more new and exclusive videos.”
