Heavy rain alert in 6 districts of Uttarakhand

The monsoon  season is at its peak in Uttarakhand. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for 5 days in Uttarakhand. Today i.e. on 4th August also there is a possibility of heavy rain, landslides and lightning in 6 districts of Uttarakhand. Heavy to very heavy rain with heavy showers likely in Nainital, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal and Tehri districts today.

The Meteorological Department has forecast that heavy to very heavy rains or heavy showers may occur in these districts. There may be reports of moderate to huge landslides and rock falls in sensitive areas. Roads may be blocked at some places in hilly areas. The overflow of rivers and streams can be seen, which can lead to waterlogging in the low-lying areas of the plains. The Meteorological Department has suggested that people living near river drains should be careful. The passengers or the people passing by the vehicle need to be careful while driving. The Meteorological Department has advised people to take shelter in safe places during lightning or thunder.
