3rd wave of Corona could hit India in the next 6 to 8 weeks says AIIMS chief

The third wave of corona virus (COVID-19 3rd Wave) may knock in India in the next 6-8 weeks. AIIMS chief Dr Randeep Guleria has expressed this apprehension. He has also indicated that the third wave is “inevitable”. After the phase of lockdown that started in late March, the process of unlocking is going on in many parts of the country. However, experts had issued a warning about the third wave some time back.

Dr. Randeep Guleria said in a conversation with NDTV said, ‘Now that we have started unlocking, again there is a lack of Covid related behavior. It doesn’t look like we’ve learned anything from what happened between the first and second wave. The crowd has started gathering again… people are getting together. But this may happen in the next 6 to 8 weeks… or maybe it may take a little longer.’ He said, ‘It depends on how we are handling the Covid related behavior and avoiding the crowd.’
