Delhi issues new unlock guidelines; metro to operate at 100 percent capacity

The Delhi government has given three major reliefs from the restrictions in the new unlock guidelines. The biggest relief in this is related to the seating facility in metro and buses. According to the new order, people can now travel sitting in the metro with 100 percent capacity. However, there will still be a ban on people traveling while standing. Along with this, the government has given permission to open auditoriums and cinema halls with 50 percent capacity. At the same time, now a maximum of 100 people will be able to attend the wedding or last rites rituals.

Till Unlock-6, exemption was given in different activities, but there was no concession for public transport. Due to this, commuters had to wait long daily at metro stations and bus stops.

Travelers have to wait for 30 minutes at Rajiv Chowk due to increase in crowd. Daily commuters are facing difficulties due to non-availability of public transport. The rush of passengers starts increasing in the metro from morning itself.

At present, passengers were allowed to travel in buses and metro at 50 percent capacity, but due to these exemptions, now travel will be comfortable. According to the old guidelines, 17 passengers could travel in buses while 25 passengers could travel in a metro coach. Now the problems of the passengers will be reduced if there is relaxation in public transport facilities.

Restriction on traveling standing in metro

However, the ban on standing passengers will continue to travel in the Delhi Metro. Apart from this, the number of guests in funeral and marriage has been kept limited to 100. At the same time, the Delhi government is not considering opening schools and colleges. DDMA has said in its statement that schools will not open yet and children’s education will continue online. Similarly, orders have been given to open restaurants and bars with 50 percent capacity.

Gym, Yoga Center Park will open only with 50% capacity

Earlier, from June 28, DDMA had allowed opening of gyms and yoga institutions with 50 percent capacity, apart from city parks, gardens, golf courses and banquet halls. At that time DDMA had given clear instructions that banquet halls would be opened only for marriage. No other mass gathering programs were allowed. At that time, the Delhi government, through its order, had also abolished the mandatory e-pass for people coming from other states.
