Alert regarding rain in Uttarakhand, Chardham Yatra continuously affected due to bad weather

Heavy rains continue in Uttarakhand for now. There was a heavy rain forecast for Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Udham Singh Nagar and Champawat, for which orange alert has been issued in these areas. There is a yellow alert in the entire state except these places. At the same time, due to rains and landslides, the Char Dham Yatra route is continuously getting obstructed.

The number of people buried under the debris has risen to 23 from 20 in Rudraprayag on Friday due to landslides triggered by heavy rains. Rescue work has been started to find 20 of the missing. On the other hand, three dead bodies were recovered on Friday.

Sahasradhara Road, Maldevta, Raipur, Rajpur area received more than 100 mm of rainfallin Dehradun. It has been raining at many places since morning on Sunday.

According to Bikram Singh, director of the State Meteorological Center, an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain has been issued in Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar on Sunday. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are expected in these districts. There is also a possibility of lightning along with it. While there is a yellow alert for other districts.
