PV Sindhu wins bronze at Tokyo Olympics 2020

India’s superstar badminton player PV Sindhu has won the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics. Sindhu registered a 21-13 and 21-15 win over Chinese shuttler Bingjiao in the bronze medal match. In the process she became just the second Indian athlete to win medals in consecutive Olympics.

PV Sindhu creates history

PV Sindhu created history in Tokyo Olympics. She has won the bronze medal. Sindhu defeated He Bingjiao of China 21-13, 21-15 to claim the bronze medal. PV Sindhu has become the first Indian woman player to win two medals in an individual Olympic event. Among men, wrestler Sushil Kumar (Bronze – Beijing 2008, Silver – London 2012) did this feat.

After winning the first game, Sindhu maintained her lead in the second game. Her relentless aggressive play proved to be too much for her opponent. Sindhu’s journey in the Olympics was quite spectacular. She had maintained the winning streak from the beginning. Although the only defeat was in the semi-finals, she made a comeback and won a medal for the country.
