Uttarakhand seeks approval of double lane tunnel connecting Dehradun and Tehri

In this episode, now the journey from Dehradun to Tehri is going to be even easier and less time-consuming. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is currently on a Delhi tour, Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami on Wednesday made a courtesy call on Home Minister Amit Shah. Where he also requested the approval of the construction of a double lane tunnel from Dehradun to Tehri Lake, at present, a total distance of 105 km has to be covered by the Mussoorie-Chamba Koti Colony motor road to reach Tehri Lake from Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Due to the entire route being in mountainous area, it takes about 3:30 hours. But if a tunnel of 35 km is built between the two places, then this journey will take just 1 hour.

During this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured to approve this project soon, Chief Minister Dhami expressed his gratitude to the Union Minister on this, while the estimated cost of construction of the tunnel has been estimated at 8750 crores. After the construction of the tunnel between Dehradun and Tehri Lake, the journey will not only be easy, but tourism will also get a boost. Principal Secretary PWD RK Sudhanshu said that only the initial blueprint of the plan has been prepared, in which a detailed survey will be done after which the actual distance of the tunnel from Dehradun and Tehri will be known, the tunnel is proposed near Rajpur in Dehradun, which is Tehri. It will end at Koti Colony near the lake. The total length of the tunnel will be around 35 km. At the same time, after the construction of the tunnel, it will take only around 60 minutes to travel till Tehri Lake.
