97 percent normal monsoon rains in Uttarakhand

Monsoon has completed 100 days in Uttarakhand. The state has recorded 97 per cent of the monsoon rains. It also has some pre-monsoon showers. The state has received a total of 1110.7 mm of rain in the last 100 days. Which is recorded as an average of 1149.3 mm under normal conditions. With this, the state has received 97 percent rain. Few days before the end of the monsoon, this season’s rain difference between less than 3 per cent of normal. According to meteorologists, this difference is very minor and overall the monsoon in the state has been good and normal as expected.

Monsoon may exit Uttarakhand in first week of October

The monsoon season is generally considered to be of a span of four months from June to September. Whereas the entry of monsoon into the state is considered from 20 to 22 June till 30 September. This time the monsoon arrived earlier than the scheduled time and now its departure is also expected to be delayed by a week. According to weather director Bikram Singh, The departure of monsoon can be commented on only after the first week of October. It’s active as of now.
