Bageshwar district leads in terms of vaccination in Uttarakhand

The challenge of achieving 100% target by the month of December is increasing due to slowing down of the pace of vaccination. So far, 60 percent have been able to get the second dose of the vaccine in the state. The state government has set a target of 100 percent vaccination for people above the age of 18 by December. Bageshwar district ranks first in the state in applying the first and second doses of the vaccine.

Vaccination campaign was started in the state from January 16 to prevent Covid infection. According to the data of the Health Department, more than 77.29 lakh people above the age of 18 are to be vaccinated in the state. In which so far more than 75.35 lakh have received the first dose and about 45.71 lakh have received the second dose.

With the reduction of corona infection effect, the speed of vaccination has also decreased. On Sunday, 22714 people were given the first or second dose of the vaccine at 539 centers in the state. Due to which the challenge of achieving 100% target by December is increasing.

State Immunization Officer Dr. Kuldeep Singh Martolia says that every effort is being made to achieve the target of 100% vaccination by December. Vaccination drive is also ongoing by going from door to door of the mobile vaccination team. He has appealed that those who have administered the first dose of the vaccine. They must apply the second dose after the prescribed time.
