Micro containment zone in FRI after 11 trainee officers test positive for Coronavirus
11 trainee officers from many states including UP, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, called for mid-term training at Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy in Dehradun, have been found corona infected. After IFS officers got corona infected, they have been quarantined in the academy itself.
The officers had come to Dehradun even before the report came in Delhi
According to academy officials, 40 IFS officers from different states were called for mid-term training. These officers were earlier sent to New Delhi after training in management at Lucknow IIM. In New Delhi, when the corona test of all the officers was done, six officers were found to be corona infected, but before the report came, all the officers had reached Dehradun.
Apart from this, officers are also being investigated along with them. FRI Additional Director Dr SK Awasthi said that a team of 48 officers was on training in Lucknow and then went on training in Delhi. All samples were taken while coming from Delhi to Dehradun and eight officers were found infected. After this, three other officers have also been found to be coronavirus positive. Altogether 11 IAS officers have been confirmed to have coronavirus infection.
No effect due to vaccine
IGNFA Additional Director Dr. SK Awasthi said that all the IFS officers who reached Doon have received both the doses of the anti-coronavirus vaccine. This is the reason that even after infection, everyone’s health is normal or they are showing very few symptoms.
Old hostel made micro containment zone
District Magistrate Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar has issued an order to make the Academy’s Old Hostel a micro-containment zone after several IFS officers were found to have a corona virus infection at the same time. After about five months, a containment zone has been created in Doon. No infected officer will be able to enter the outer area from here till further orders. All the items needed will be provided in the hostel itself.
