First phase of NEET UG state counciling begins

The first phase of state counseling of NEET-UG has started. HNB Uttarakhand University of Medical Education has released its detailed schedule. There are three government and two private medical colleges in the state. Apart from this, there are also two private dental colleges. In government medical colleges, 85 percent seats are filled through state counselling. At the same time, all admissions in private medical colleges / dental colleges are done through state counseling. View official notification on this link.

In private colleges, 50 percent seats are from state quota and 50 percent are from All India-Management quota. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Hemchandra Pandey told that those students can apply for the state quota seat, who have done 10th and 12th from Uttarakhand or is a native of this place. At the same time, any student from across the country can apply for All India-Management Quota. He told that only the first phase schedule has been released so far. The schedule for Phase II, Measure Up Round and Stray Vacancy Round (at college level) will be released later.

Free exit in first round

Students will have to deposit security money of Rs 10,000 for government medical college and private dental college and Rs 1 lakh for private medical college.  According to Prof. Vijay Juyal Controller of Examinations of the University, the student will get free exit facility in the first round. That is, the security money will be returned to the student after taking admission after the seat is allotted or leaving the seat before admission. But, this is not the case in the second round. If a student is allotted a seat in the second round of counseling and does not take admission within the stipulated time period, their security money will be forfeited. In case of non-allocation of seat to any student, the security money is returned.

Almora Medical collage gets recognition

There is a good news for the youth of Uttarakhand who want to become a doctor. They will now get more options for admission in MBBS. Almora Medical College, the fourth state medical college of the state, has got recognition. Admission will be done on 100 seats in the college in this session, out of which 85 seats are from the state quota.

There was a plan to start Almora Medical College in the year 2017, but the deadline kept slipping back. The wait of the students also increased from year to year.
