More rain, snow forecast for Uttarakhand
The weather has changed once again in Uttarakhand. For the past two days, the people of the state had got relief from the rains. But suddenly the weather started changing its direction last evening. The clouds started rolling in the sky since evening. The weather has been bad in the entire state since this morning. While the rain continues in the low-lying areas, it was snowing in the mountainous areas, due to which the temperature fell rapidly and the cold has increased manifold. It rained all afternoon in the surrounding areas including Dehradun. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be rain and snowfall in the mountains today and tomorrow. The department has issued a yellow alert regarding hailstorm and lightning in the plains.
There is a possibility of rain and snow in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar. Whereas, there may be thunder and hailstorm in Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar. After heavy rain and snowfall across the state on Tuesday and Wednesday, people got relief from the cold due to warm sunshine for the last two days. It was sunny since Friday morning, but by the end of the evening, the clouds started rolling in. Chills began to increase with the cold wind. According to the Director of Meteorological Center Bikram Singh, the fresh Western Disturbance has become active in Uttarakhand, due to which the coming 2 days can increase the troubles of the people in the state. For the next two days, the process of rain and snowfall will continue in Uttarakhand, due to which the cold will increase further.
