Uttarakhand Ayushman Gold Card New Rule

The government has made many changes in the facilities and rules available under Ayushman Yojana. Beneficiaries under the scheme can avail treatment in empaneled private hospitals, but only if they are referred from government hospitals. It has been made mandatory to refer patients to a government hospital for free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. In view of the increasing effect of corona infection, patients were allowed to be admitted directly to private hospitals, but now because the cases of infection have reduced, the old system has also been changed.

The health agency has made referral mandatory for Ayushman scheme for free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, but referral is not mandatory for government employees and pensioners for treatment under the cashless state health scheme. Patients will be able to go directly to empaneled private hospitals for treatment. Ayushman card holders can directly go to NABH recognized private hospitals and medical collegesto get their treatment done.

Referral will not be required for treatment in these hospitals. There are only three NABH private hospitals in the state, so for treatment in most of the private hospitals, people have to first get referral from the government hospital. For the last two years a large number of people in the state are taking advantage of the Ayushman scheme and the government has spent crores of rupees on the treatment of patients. In Uttarakhand, close to 70 lakh people come under the purview of Ayushman scheme for free treatment of five lakh rupees, but only 44 lakh people have been able to make Uttarakhand Ayushman Gold Card.
