Western disturbance again active; weather alert issued for 6 districts

Entire North India including Uttarakhand is reeling under severe cold. For the past few days, the sun was shining in the state, due to which the cold was expected to subside, but the icy winds coming from the mountains are still not allowing the mercury to rise. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert from that Western Disturbance is going to be active again in Uttarakhand. Heavy rain and snowfall are expected in 6 districts. Snowfall is likely in Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Nainital, Uttarkashi and Chakrata in Dehradun.

The State Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall in the state during this period. According to meteorologists, due to the activation of western disturbances, a change in the weather can be seen once again. Apart from this, there may be snowfall in the high altitude areas like Harshil, Gorson, Hemkund and Auli besides the Chardham peaks. Rain is expected in the low lying areas.

It is freezing cold in the morning and evening. In the hilly areas, the problem of frost has increased, while there is a dense fog in the plains. On Monday, it was cloudy in many districts of Garhwal and Kumaon, although the sun came out in the afternoon. Cash crops are being damaged due to frost in Mussoorie, Tehri, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, Champawat and Pithoragarh, causing distress to farmers.

Due to dense fog in Haridwar, Roorkee and Udhamsinghnagar in the morning, the temperature is being recorded two to three degrees below normal. Roorkee saw light sunshine on Monday, but there was no respite from the cold. The maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 15.5 degree Celsius. Which was 5.8 degree Celsius below normal. The weather in the coming days, from February 2 in the state, the weather can once again change its direction.
