CM Yogi led BJP gets historic win in UP Assembly elections 2022

The public of Uttar Pradesh have once again showed their faith in Yogi Adityanath. As soon as he takes oath as CM again, many records related to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly will be broken. The first and most important record will be in the name of Yogi, who is to become CM for two consecutive terms. Prior to this, Chandrabhanu Gupta and N.D. Tiwari became CM for two consecutive terms, but they could not complete their term.

List of records

– First candidate to become CM for the second consecutive time in the history of UP Legislative Assembly.
– First Chief Minister of BJP to complete 5 year term.
– This happened for the first time under BJP rule, when only one person remained CM for 5 years.
– Yogi is the fifth CM to win for the second time in a row. Prior to this, Sampurnanand in 1957, Chandrabhanu Gupta in 1962, Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna in 1974 and N.D. Tiwari have done the same.
– Yogi Adityanath will be the first chief minister in 15 years to take oath as an MLA. Before him, Mayawati in 2007 and Akhilesh Yadav in 2012 took oath as the Chief Minister while being a member of the Legislative Council.

Gorakhpur Sadar seat is considered a stronghold of BJP. For the last 33 years, only the BJP candidate has been winning the election here. At present there are 4,53,662 voters in Gorakhpur Sadar seat. Yogi’s rivals here were Subhavati Shukla (SP), Khwaja Shamsuddin (BSP) and Chandrashekhar Azad (Bhim Army). In 1989, this seat was won by Shiv Pratap Shukla of BJP. Since then, the BJP has been occupying this seat.

In Uttar Pradesh, BJP came to power for the first five years from 1997 to 2002, but in these 5 years, 3 chief ministers also changed. When the BJP government was formed on 21 September 1997, Kalyan Singh became the Chief Minister. After two years, the CM’s face was changed and Ram Prakash Gupta was given the chair. Only 351 days after this change, Rajnath Singh was made CM by removing Ram Prakash Gupta.
