Sensex closes above 58650; Nifty closes under 17500

On the third trading day of the week, the stock market opened with an increase and closed with an increase, it was bullish throughout the day. The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex closed at 58,683 with a gain of 740 points. On the other hand, the Nifty closed at 17,472 with a gain of 146 points.

The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex opened with a gain of 419 points at 58,372. Whereas NSE’s Nifty opened at 17,468. It made a high of 58,727 and a low of 58,176 throughout the trading day. Auto and banking sector stocks are the top losers in the Sensex. In this, Maruti, Bajaj Finance, Mahindra & Mahindra and Nestle India closed with gains of over 2%. On the other hand, Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra, Wipro and Bharti Airtel remained in the red.

Metal and Pharma indexes fall

Out of 11 sectoral indices of Nifty, metal and pharma indices declined, remaining 9 closed with gains. The highest media index has a gain of 2.28%. On the other hand, banks, auto, fin service, realty and private banks are trading with a gain of more than 1%. On the other hand, FMCG, IT, Pharma and PSU Bank saw marginal gains.

All four major indexes gain

Nifty’s four major indexes Next 50, Midcap, Financial and Bank were among the gainers. Only 32 of its 50 stocks were up and the rest 18 were down. Top gainers were Bajaj Finance, HDFC Life, Axis Bank Life, Tata Consumer, Hero MotoCorp, Maruti, Reliance and Tata Motors.
