Gorakhnath temple attack: Police got custody of accused till April 11

The main accused in the attack on cops outside Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur, UP, Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi, has been handed over to the police custody till April 11 by the court. Earlier, the court had sent him to 14-day judicial custody. With this, the avenues for police interrogation have been opened. At the same time, many secrets are expected to be revealed about the attack, because UP’s ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar and ACS Home Avneesh Awasthi have already said that it could be a terrorist attack. Along with this, both have also expressed the possibility of a big conspiracy behind it.

The accused Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi has studied Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay. While the father of the accused is also an engineer. It has also been learned that Murtaza’s family used to live in Mumbai earlier, but in October 2020, they came to Gorakhpur. However, the father of the accused says that his mental condition is not good.

CM Yogi Adityanath reached Gorakhpur

CM Yogi has also reached Gorakhpur one day after the incident. During this, he first reached the BRD Medical College in the city and met the policemen injured in the Gorakhnath temple attack and got to know their condition. After this he reached the Gorakhnath temple of the state and visited the spot.
