Selling continues in the market, Sensex slips 236 points, Nifty closes at 16120

There has been a decline in the stock market on the second trading day of the week. After today’s trading session, the Sensex closed at 54,052.61, down 236.00 points or 0.43 per cent. With this, the Nifty index slipped 89.55 points or 0.55 percent to close at the level of 16125.

IT stocks fell

Out of the top-30 stocks of the Sensex, 10 stocks have closed in the green mark. Apart from this, 20 shares have closed in the red mark. Today the decline in IT stocks has dominated. At the same time, good buying has been seen in banking stocks.

Shares of Tech Mahindra fell 4%

Shares of Tech Mahindra have been in the list of top losers today. Apart from this, Hindustan Unilever, Asian Paints, NTPC, Infosys, Tata Steel, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv, ITC, Maruti, LT, Wipro, TCS, Ultra Chemical, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, IndusInd Bank, Titan and ICICI Bank were in the red among the blue chips.

Which stocks were up?

Apart from this, Dr Reddy has been at the top of the list of bullish stocks today. The shares of HDFC, Kotak Bank, HDFC Bank, Power Grid, Nestle India, M&M, Reliance, SBI and Bajaj Finance closed with gains.

There was mixed business in the sectoral index

Talking about the sectoral index, today Nifty Bank, Auto, Financial Services and Private Bank sectors have closed in the green. Apart from this, selling dominated in Oil & Gas, Consumer Durable, Healthcare, Nifty Realty, PSU Bank, Pharma, Metal, Media, IT and FMCG sectors.
