Pre-monsoon showers expected in Uttarakhand from June 15

From June 15, due to the activity of pre-monsoon, there is a possibility of rain in the plains and mountains, which have been scorching due to heat for the last one month. Meteorologists have also predicted the arrival of monsoon in the state by June 20. However, there may be a slight change in it.

On the other hand, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh in the next 24 hours. Strong winds are also likely in some areas. Vikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, said that although the monsoon has knocked in many states and due to the activity, rains have started in many states including Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, but in Uttarakhand from June 15, pre-monsoon showers are likely.

Monsoon can fully reach here around June 20. At the same time, even before the onset of monsoon, the heat has given some respite. After 15 days in the capital Doon, the maximum temperature reached below 40 degrees, which is a matter of relief.

According to the Meteorological Department, where the maximum temperature on Sunday was 39.3 degrees, which was five degrees above normal. At the same time, the minimum temperature also dropped to 23.7 degrees Celsius. There has been some respite from the heat due to reduction in maximum and minimum temperatures, but still the temperature may remain around 39 degrees.
