First Monkeypox case found in Delhi

The virus causing Monkeypox has also knocked in the capital of the country, Delhi. The first case of monkeypox has been confirmed in Delhi. No foreign travel history of the infected person is being reported. The 31-year-old from West Delhi had never traveled abroad. The patient has been admitted to Lok Nayak Hospital. Two days ago, the sample of this patient was sent to NIV Pune for examination, whose report has come positive.

Delhi’s Loknayak Hospital has been made the nodal center for monkeypox cases and all cases of monkeypox in the capital will be treated in this hospital.

Three cases of monkeypox were also reported in the country from Kerala. Including today’s case, a total of four patients have come to the fore in the country.

The Health Ministry has confirmed that the patient is a 31-year-old man who has not traveled abroad. This patient was admitted to the hospital with fever and skin lesions.  Yesterday, the WHO had declared monkeypox virus a public health emergency.
