Delhi Liquor Policy Case: CBI starts questioning of accused

The CBI on Saturday recorded the statements of three accused while initiating their inquiry in the alleged corruption case related to the implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy. Giving information about this, officials said that the agency is also examining the documents seized during raids at 31 places including the residence of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday. It was reported that there are 15 names including Manish Sisodia in the CBI FIR.

Officials said the three accused were called to the CBI headquarters where their statements were recorded and they were confronted with some documents of financial transactions recovered during searches. The other accused would also be issued summons once the process of verification of bank transactions along with documents and electronic gadgets is completed, officials said.

The CBI’s FIR, registered with a special court on Wednesday, has also been shared with the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED, a financial probe agency, will probe money laundering allegations in this case.

The agency had raided 31 places on Friday, including premises belonging to Sisodia as well as some bureaucrats and businessmen.
