Dehradun cloudburst: SDRF continues search and rescue operation

After heavy rains, the SDRF’s search operation continued even after a day in a disaster-like situation. After the disaster caused by heavy rains in Maldevta area of ​​Dehradun, SDRF teams have started the search operation again on Sunday morning. Here five people were washed away in the river.

Apart from this, the SDRF team has also started campaigning in Gwad, adjacent to Sarkhet. SDRF team has also reached from Jolly Grant post in search of those who went missing in Saroli.

The rescue team are looking for the people by descending into the river. At the same time, the help of local people and police is also being taken. Divers have also been lowered into the river. On the other hand, DGP Ashok Kumar has also reached the disaster area. He is here taking stock of the damage and directing the team.

25 houses and primary school damaged in Sarkhet

The rains caused huge destruction in the Maldevta, Saung and Bandal valley areas of Dehradun. Due to this there was damage in Maldevata, Sarkhet, Timli, Mansinghwala, Bhainswara, Serki and Chamroli. Three injured were airlifted from Sarkhet. Five people are missing here. Two bridges have been badly damaged. Whereas, the roads have been washed away at places.

The help of the army is also being taken in relief and rescue operations. According to DM Dehradun Sonika, 25 houses, primary schools and six shops were damaged in Sarkhet due to the excessive rainfall. In Sarkhet, three people were injured due to debris.

Five people are still missing. Whereas, 28 animals died. DM Sonika and SSP Dalip Kunwar reached Sarkhet with the officers. According to DM Sonika, there is an initial estimate of loss of 1270.20 lakh across the district.
