Neeraj Chopra makes winning comeback at Lausanne Diamond League

Olympic champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra once again created history on Friday. Neeraj became the first Indian to win the Lausanne stage title of the Diamond League Meet. With this, he has also reached the final of the Diamond League in Zurich on September 7 and 8. He is the first Indian to achieve this feat. Along with this, he has also qualified for the World Championships to be held in Budapest, Hungary in 2023.

Neeraj Chopra, 24, threw the javelin 89.08 meters in the first attempt to achieve this title. This is the third best effort of his career. He could not participate in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham due to injury. Chopra, who hails from Panipat, Haryana, has become the first Indian to win a Diamond League title. Before Chopra, discus thrower Vikas Gowda was the only Indian to make it to the top three of the Diamond League meet.
