UKSSSC paper leak case: So far 15 accused arrested
Shocking links are coming out in the paper leak case of Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission’s graduate level recruitment examination. The strings of the episode have now also been linked to the Uttarakhand Secretariat.
15 accused arrested so far
It was reported that the Special Task Force (STF) has arrested an Additional Private Secretary working in the Secretariat. Some other secretariat personnel are also on the radar of STF. Apart from this, a candidate has also been arrested, who got 164th rank in the examination by cheating. Based on his statements, the secretariat worker was arrested. So far, a total of 15 accused have been arrested in this case.
On Thursday, DGP Ashok Kumar gave a press conference and informed about the investigation and action of STF so far in the paper leak case. He told that a case was registered on 22 July 2022 on the complaint of irregularities in this examination held in December 2021. So far 15 people including government employees and one candidate have been arrested. The involvement of some employees of the outsourced company that conducted the examination has been detected. He has also been arrested. The DGP said that the investigation is still on and many arrests are yet to be made. It is believed that hundreds of students have cheated in the examination.
So far 50 candidates have been confirmed. The commission will be written to cancel their examination. After this all will be made accused in the trial. On the question of complicity of political people, the DGP did not deny it. He said that information is being collected about the people whose names have surfaced. Action will be taken after getting the proof of whom he approached to buy the paper and who were in contact with him.
Corruption Act will be imposed on government employees
Five government employees, including a Private Secretary of the Secretariat, have been arrested in the paper leak case. Since, this matter is directly related to corruption, then sections of the Corruption Act will also be added against the government employees. The DGP said that the links in the whole matter are connecting with each other. In such a situation, more government officials or employees may be involved in this.
Demand to expedite the process of police recruitment examination
The DGP said that this time the recruitment examination of police constables is also going on. Physical efficiency test has been conducted. Now there is a written test. Apart from this, the recruitment of inspectors is also to be done. The commission itself will conduct these examinations. In such a situation, it has been written to the commission that these examinations should be conducted at the earliest so that the vacant posts in the police can be filled in time.
