Ravindra Jadeja ruled out of Asia Cup due to knee injury

In the Asia Cup 2022, India has made it to the Super-4 by winning its first two matches. The team will play its next match against the winner between Pakistan and Hong Kong, but before the match on Sunday, India has suffered a major setback. Team’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the Asia Cup due to a knee injury. Axar Patel has been included in the team as a replacement for Jadeja. The BCCI has confirmed this by issuing a press release.

The BCCI issued a press release saying, “The All India Senior Selection Committee has selected Axar Patel in place of Ravindra Jadeja in the ongoing Asia Cup. Ravindra Jadeja has injured his right knee and has been ruled out of the tournament. He is currently under the supervision of the BCCI medical team. Axar Patel was selected as one of the ‘standby’ players in the team, he will be joining the team in Dubai soon.

Ravindra Jadeja’s injury in the middle of the tournament is not good news for India. Jadeja has been in excellent form and played a match-winning innings of 35 runs in the high-voltage match against Pakistan. In the match against Hong Kong, he took 1 wicket for 15 runs in 4 overs.

This is also a big setback for India from the perspective of T20 World Cup to be held in Australia. Because a few days after the end of the Asia Cup, BCCI is going to announce the World Squad. However, it is not yet confirmed how serious Jadeja’s injury is. India has to play its first Super Four match on Sunday.
