Stock market update 21 November: Market closes in red on first trading day of the week

The stock market declined on Monday, the first trading day of the week. The Sensex closed at 61,144, down 518 points or 0.84%. The Nifty also closed at 18,154, down 153 points or 0.84%. 22 out of 30 Sensex stocks declined. Tech Mahindra fell by 2.19%. Axis Bank and Airtel were up by about 1.5% each.

IT and realty index in the red

Talking about the sectoral index of NSE, Nifty IT declined the most by 1.55%. Nifty Realty is down 1.27%. Auto, Financial Services and Pharma indices declined by more than 0.50% each. Nifty Metal is down 0.81% and Bank is down 0.46%. The Public Sector Bank index gained 1.41%. Media index also climbed 0.25%.

Ease My Trip jumped 20%

The stock of travel company Ease My Trip gained 20% today on the back of Ex-bonus and Ex-split. The stock opened at Rs 53 after bonus and split adjustments. The scrip closed at Rs 57.30, up Rs 9.56 or 20.03% on the NSE. The stock had closed at Rs 381.95 in the previous trading session on Friday, November 18.

Listing of two Companies

Five Star Business listed at Rs 449.95 at a discount of 5% on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). This stock is listed down 1.10% at the level of 468.80 on NSE i.e. Nations Stock Exchange (NSE). The issue price of the share was Rs 474. It closed at Rs 490, up Rs 16 or 3.38%.

On the other hand, the share of Archean has increased by 13.86% on BSE and this share has been listed at the level of Rs 450 on NSE. The price band of the company’s IPO was Rs 407. It closed at Rs 458.15, up Rs 51.15 or 12.57%.
