Water sports cup in Tehri lake from 28 to 30th December
Soon the thrill of water sports will be seen in Tehri Lake. THDC India Limited in association with Ministry of Power, Government of India is going to organize Tehri Water Sports Cup for the first time at Tehri Lake.
THDC Manager Rajeev Bishnoi said that Asian Championship and Olympic qualifying 2022-23 will be organized in this event to be held from 28 to 30 December. About 300 participants from 17 states are participating in it.
Talking to the media at the headquarters of Ganga Bhawan, Rishikesh, CMD Rajeev Vishnoi said that this event at Tehri Reservoir will bring laurels to the region on the world stage. THDC is organizing Water Sports Cup for the first time.
‘Definitely this event will encourage water sports. He said that this is not just a three day event, we will prepare it to train the youth of Uttarakhand in this field as well as participate at national and international level.’
The competition includes sailing and kayaking. Technical cooperation will be provided by ITBP in this event. Apart from this, Uttarakhand Olympic Association, Uttarakhand Sailing Kayaking Association, SDRF will cooperate in this.
The winning players of this sporting event will also represent India at the international level. It is noteworthy that organizing this national level game is a matter of pride for the state of Uttarakhand and THDC India Limited. It is also a matter of pride because for the first time any such game is being organized in Tehri Reservoir.
These games will not only create a distinctive identity of Tehri on the national stage, but will also infuse strong energy among the youth, especially from the state of Uttarakhand, through players representing the nation at the international level.
