Dehradun: Students protest against rigging in government recruitment, traffic woes in city

In Uttarakhand, the road was blocked and traffic stopped by students protesting against rigging of recruitments. The students became enraged when the police force was deployed. In no time, the police lathi-charged them, after which there was fierce stone-pelting between the two. The police have now started preparing to arrest the students. While appealing to the students to maintain peace, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, ‘Our government is fully alert to protect the interests of the youth of the state. As before, we have neither suppressed nor hidden any recruitment scam. have sent all of them to jail. Our government had already decided that a strict law will be made to prevent cheating in recruitment examinations.

We are bringing the country’s most stringent anti-copying law. Such concrete arrangements are being made. All the examinations to be held in future should be transparent and without cheating. No injustice will be allowed to happen to the youth of the state.

Our government is taking decisions in the interest of the youth. We have also ensured women’s reservation for the sisters and daughters of the state. Everyone’s interests will be protected. The youth are requested not to be misled by anyone.’
