Negative RTPCR report; hotel booking necessary before traveling to Mussoorie

The administration has issued a new guide-line to control the crowd gathering at tourist places on weekends to prevent corona infection. District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Srivastava has banned two-wheeler entry in Mussoorie on weekends. For tourists coming to Mussoorie, corona negative test report not later than 72 hours before, registration on Dehradun Smart City portal and booking in hotel will also be mandatory like last week. Not only this, the District Magistrate has also banned the entry of tourists in rivers, ponds and springs on weekends at tourist places like Mussoorie, Sahasradhara and Guchchupani. The District Magistrate said that this arrangement and rules will be applicable from Saturday morning till 8 am on Monday. On the orders of the High Court, the entry of two wheelers on weekends in Nainital was banned only last week.

After the strictness of the High Court to control the crowd at tourist places, the government has taken a strict attitude. In this sequence, Chief Secretary SS Sandhu has ordered strictness to all the District Magistrates. This is the reason why all the restrictions have been imposed in Mussoorie-Nainital since last week. Issuing new rules for this weekend, the District Magistrate has also banned entry of two wheelers.

The District Magistrate has directed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Yogendra Singh Rawat to ensure compliance of the rules. Under the new rule, there will now be a ban on local citizens of Doon and tourists traveling to Mussoorie on two-wheelers from nearby cities on weekends. If someone wants to go by their car too, then it will be mandatory for them to have corona test report and hotel booking.

However, for tourists who will go to Mussoorie by roadways bus, they will be exempted from the condition of hotel booking. Only in case of emergency will people be allowed to go from Dehradun to Mussoorie without the above conditions. Local residents of Mussoorie will be able to move by showing their identity card. On the other hand, SSP Dr. Yogendra Singh Rawat, while releasing a video on the internet media, has appealed to the tourists to come to Doon under the new rules. Additional deployment of 120 policemen will be done at Company Garden and Mall Road in Mussoorie on weekends.
