Market ends 2 day slide; Sensex closes up by 600 points

After the fall of the last two days, the Sensex brought back smiles on the faces of investors on Tuesday. After Tuesday’s trading session, the Sensex closed at a level of 61,032.26 points after a gain of 600.42 points. On the other hand, Nifty closed at the level of 17929.85 points with a gain of 158.95 points.

On the second trading day of the week, the IT, banking and FMCG sector stocks showed strength in the market growth. UPL and ITC were the top gainers in the Nifty. Both the stocks showed a strength of three percent each. At the same time, shares of Apollo Hospitals and Eicher Motors declined by two per cent each.

The National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 17,929.85 with a gain of 158.95 points. UPL, ITC, Reliance Industries, Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports were the top gainers on Nifty. On the other hand, Apollo Hospitals, Eicher Motors, SBI Life, BPCL, Grasim were the top losers. Talking about sectoral indices, except Nifty Auto, Media, Pharma, Realty, Healthcare Index, Consumer Durables, all other sectoral indices closed with gains.
