Uttarakhand gets third G20 meet; to be held in Ramnagar

The central government has once again shown generosity towards Uttarakhand. The Center has now handed over the hosting of three meetings of the G-20 summit to Uttarakhand instead of two. Its first meeting will be held from March 26 to 28 at Ramnagar in Nainital district.

Chief scientific advisors of various countries including America and Japan will participate in this meeting. The government has written a letter to Commissioner Kumaon and District Magistrate Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar, instructing them to make preparations for the meeting.

Uttarakhand was earlier entrusted by the central government to host two meetings under the G-20 conference. These meetings are to be held in Narendra Nagar from May 25 to 27 and a second meeting from June 26 to 28,venue for which has not been decided. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had requested the Center to give the responsibility of one of the two meetings to the Kumaon division. Preparations for these two meetings have been completed to a large extent.

For this reason, the Center has decided to give the responsibility of the third G-20 meeting to Uttarakhand. Chief Scientific Advisor to the Central Government has written a letter to Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu in this regard, informing about the third meeting of the G-20 CSAR (Chief Science Advisors Round Table) being given to Uttarakhand.

The letter states that 75 international delegates and 25 country delegates are expected to attend the meeting. The US and Japan have been confirmed to participate in the meeting.
