Chaitra Navratri 2023 begin from today

Chaitra Navratri is starting from Wednesday. Preparations for worship have been completed at all the temples dedicated to Goddess Durga. According to astrologers, this time there are nine days of Navratri. In the religious texts, the entire Navratri is considered to be very beneficial for the seeker. On the ninth day of Navratri, the birth anniversary of Lord Rama will be celebrated as Ramnavami on March 30.

Devotees shopped for worship materials to worship Goddess Durga in Navratras according to the rules and rituals. Chaitra navratri is different from the Sharada navaratri which is observed during September and October before Diwali. A major part of navaratri celebration is the use of specific colours for each form of the Goddess. It is believed that each of these colours have a specific effect and is considered to be auspicious.

The nine forms of Goddess Durga which is worshiped during Navratri are: Shailputri on Pratipada; Brahmacharini on Dwitiya; Chandarghanta on Tritiya; Kushmanda on Chaturthi; Skand Mata on Panchami; Katyayani on Shashthi; Kaalratri on Saptami; Mahagauri on Ashtami and Siddhidatri on Navami.
