Uttarakhand weather update: Snowfall in higher regions; hail in Mussoorie

In Uttarakhand on Wednesday, the weather changed after noon on Holi. It rained and snowed in the hilly areas. After which slight coolness was also felt in the plains. Whereas, there was heavy hail in Mussoorie.

The Meteorological Department had expressed the possibility of clear weather on the day of Holi. But due to the reactivation of the Western Disturbance, the weather changed rapidly and it started raining. While there was snowfall in the areas adjacent to the China border, it rained in the low-lying areas. Due to which a drop in temperature was recorded.

In Mussoorie, the queen of hills, there was so much hailstorm in the afternoon that it looked like snow lying on the ground. On Holi, people had a lot of fun in the midst of light rain and hailstorm. At the same time, due to the drop in temperature, there was also a slight cold.

Light snowfall occurred in Mukhba, Harshil, Sukki, Jankichatti, Kharsali, Sankri etc. areas with a height of more than 2500 meters above sea level including Gangotri and Yamunotri.
