Fresh spell of snow in Kedarnath-Badrinath
The weather has become a problem in Uttarakhand before the start of Char Dham Yatra-2023. Due to continuous rain and snowfall, the administration teams involved in preparations before the Char Dham Yatra are also facing difficulties.
In such a situation, now the pilgrims coming to Uttarakhand from the country and abroad including UP, Delhi, MP are advised to take weather updates before going on the yatra. Police-administration teams will also give updates about the weather to the pilgrims on the yatra route. Not only this, information will also be provided to the pilgrims about the routes closed due to landslides etc. on the yatra route.
It is snowing in Kedarnath Dham for the last two days. The entire area around the Dham is covered with a white blanket of snow. Whereas, snowfall is continuing in Badrinath Dham from Friday as well. Snowfall continued in Badrinath on Saturday also.
Due to which about 6 inches of snow has accumulated in Badrinath. After snowfall, it the weather has turned cold from the mountains to the plains. The doors of Kedarnath Dham will be opened on 25 April, while the doors of Badrinath will open on 27 April for Chardham Yatra 2023 season.

Rain and snowfall continues in various cities of Uttarakhand including Dehradun, Mussoorie, Nainital, Almora, Pithoragarh. Due to rain in Dehradun in about 20 hours, the weather became like January. People had to wear warm clothes. More than 30 mm of rain fell within 24 hours. Due to this, the mercury dropped by 13.9 degrees in 24 hours. The three-year record of cold in March has been broken in Doon valley.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding rain in Uttarakhand. According to the Meteorological Department, a yellow alert has been issued for rain, snowfall and hailstorm in Uttarakhand till April 4. According to the department, snowfall can also occur above 3000 meters height. After rain on April 1, there will be light rain in the hilly areas on April 2. There is a possibility of rains on April 3 and 4 as well.
