Neeraj Chopra created history, became the world’s No. 1 player for the first time

Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra has secured the first position in the javelin throw rankings released by World Athletics. For the first time in his career, he has become the number-1 player in the world. Chopra is at the top with 1455 marks. He was 22 points ahead of world champion Anderson Peters (1433) of Granada Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic, who won the silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics, is in third place with 1416 points. Chopra (25) had reached world no. 2 on August 30 last year, but since then had not been able to overtake Peters.

Neeraj Chopra has also started the current season in the best way. He performed amazingly in the Diamond League held in Doha. Neeraj won the gold medal with a throw of 88.67 metres. Neeraj Chopra had landed in Zurich after winning the gold medal in the Olympics and then secured the first position in the Diamond League by throwing a javelin of 89.63 metres.

Regarding his performance, Neeraj Chopra had said in the past that he would like to continue his game till the Paris Olympics. The next Olympics is to be held in 2024. After the victory in the Diamond League, he had said that I am happy with my performance. It was a challenge for everyone to perform here, but I want to take the game further.
