Orange alert of heavy rain in six districts of Uttarakhand, warning of gusty winds

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rains in six districts of the state on Friday. Whereas, Orange alert of rain with gusty winds has been issued across the state.

Heavy rain alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department in Uttarkashi, Dehradun, Tehri, Nainital, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh. Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Centre, said that before June 25, there is a possibility of heavy rains at some places in the hilly areas of the state. Whereas, there may be rain with thunder in the plains as well.

Monsoon may knock soon in the state. The speed of monsoon is increasing. Normally, the scheduled date of onset of monsoon in the state is June 21 to 22. But about two weeks ago, the Meteorological Department had predicted that the monsoon would arrive in the state a week late than its scheduled time.
