Sensex makes all time high on June 22
The domestic stock market created another new history today i.e. on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Today the market has made a record breaking start. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship sensitive index Sensex has broke its one-day old all-time high of 63588.31. Today Sensex started at all time high level of 63601.71. Whereas Nifty started the day at 18853. Records are expected to be made and broken throughout the day today.
In early trade, the Sensex slipped 88 points to 63434. At the same time, the Nifty was at the level of 18843 with a fall of 13 points. Of the 50 Nifty stocks, 16 were in the green and 34 in the red. HDFC Life, Tata Steel, Adani Ports, Hindalco and Mahindra & Mahindra were among the top Nifty gainers while top losers were Infosys, PowerGrid, Bajaj Finance, HCLtech and Hindustan Unilever.
In March 2020, there was a big decline in the market. At that time the number of retail investors was close to four crore. After this, a continuous increase was registered in this figure. By August 2022, the number of demat accounts has more than doubled to reach 10 crore. Similarly, the participation of small investors in day trading has gone up to 55 per cent. The number of investors registered on BSE has grown by about 24 per cent on an average year-on-year.
