4 accused arrested after outrage over Manipur viral video
A total of four accused have been arrested in the disturbing case of assault on two women in Manipur. Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said on Thursday (July 20) that this is a crime against humanity. We immediately started the operation after watching the video. One accused was arrested in the morning, now more accused have been arrested.
Manipur Police tweeted that three more accused have been arrested in this case. After which a total of four accused have been arrested in this case. The police is making every effort to arrest the other culprits at the earliest. Raids are on. On the other hand, the Chief Minister said that ‘as soon as the video came to our notice, we identified the accused and took action. We haven’t wasted even a minute. No guilty will be left.’
On this matter, Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey said that this incident is condemnable. I’ had called the DGP and given instructions to arrest all the accused at the earliest. I asked him why no action was taken in the police station where the FIR was lodged. If the policemen are found guilty, strict action will be taken against them as well.’
