WhatsApp limits forward messages from five to one to keep check on fake messages

WhatsApp has taken a big decision to crack down on the wrong news and rumors going on related to the coronavirus pandemic.

Will not be able to send forwarded message more than once

In a statement issued by WhatsApp, in its official blog the company said that no person will be able to forward any viral messages, memes, photos or videos to more than one person. This decision has come at a critical time when the coronavirus infection is spreading very fast all over the world. The company says that instead of correct information on Corona virus, wrong information can affect people. Before this WhatsApp had limited the limit of forwarding any message to 5 times.

Experts associated with the case say that recently, many rumors about the Coronavirus are being spread through WhatsApp. Because of this, the local administration is having a lot of trouble in fighting this pandemic. The problem of misinformation or rumor on WhatsApp is not just in India but all over the world. This is the reason that WhatsApp has taken a strong step and currently limits the forwarding of any message to only one person or group.

Recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said that there is a need to avoid the misinformation and rumors about Coronavirus infection. The IT Ministry also had a meeting with all mobile and Internet companies and said that there is a need to check forward messages so that people do not panic due to incorrect information.
