Bull run continues in the stock market, Sensex jumps 302 points, Nifty closed beyond 19,800

The rally in the local stock markets continued for the fifth consecutive trading session on Wednesday and the record closing of the Sensex-Nifty took place. In Wednesday’s business, all the sectors closed in the green mark. At the end of trading, the 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 67,097.44 with a gain of 302.30 points, or 0.45 per cent. At the same time, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at the level of 19833.15 with a gain of 83.90 points i.e. 0.42 percent.

NTPC, Bajaj Finance, IndusInd Bank, UltraTech Cement and Bajaj Finserv were the top Nifty gainers in Wednesday’s trade. On the other hand, Hindalco Industries, Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, TCS and Maruti Suzuki were the top Nifty losers.

In the previous trading session, the Sensex closed at its all-time high of 66,795.14 points, up 205.21 points, or 0.31 per cent. NSE’s Nifty also closed at a new record level of 19,749.25 points with a gain of 37.80 points, or 0.19 percent.

Tata Group to set up £4bn EV battery plant

The UK government on Wednesday announced that the Tata group will invest over £4 billion in setting up a new electric vehicle (EV) battery plant or gigafactory in the UK. This will create thousands of jobs in the supply chain. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called it an incredibly proud moment for the country’s automotive industry and said it shows the strength of Britain’s car manufacturing industry and its workers.
