TRAI orders telecom companies to offer atleast one plan of 30 day validity

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has given a decision today which is no less than big news for telecom users. TRAI has recently said regarding the telecom tariff that telecom companies will now have to offer one such recharge plans whose validity is 30 days and not 28 days. Also in this order it has been said that for plans with validity of 30 days, notification will have to be issued and that too within 60 days.

TRAI says that companies must keep at least one such plan in their portfolio which has a validity of 30 days instead of 28. It should be a special tariff voucher or a combo voucher. Also, there should be a provision so that if the user wants to recharge these plans again, then they can get it done from the date of the existing plan.

If this order is implemented then it will be no less than good news for the users. This is because for a long time, users were filing complaints about the fact that telecom companies give them a validity of 28 days, not 30. According to customers, telecom companies save about 28 to 29 days in a year by deducting 2 days every month. In such a situation, users have to do 13 recharges every year instead of 12. At the same time, if someone recharges for three months, then instead of getting the validity of 90 days, they get a validity of only 84 days. At the same time, those who recharge for two months get a validity of 54 or 56 days instead of 60 days.
