Temperatures drop as rain, snowfall continue in Uttarakhand

The weather pattern has changed in Uttarakhand for the last three days. Tuesday also started with rain. It has been raining intermittently since Monday night from the mountains to the plains. Due to which a significant drop in temperature has also been registered.

Snowfall and hail alert

Even today, the Meteorological Department has warned of light to moderate rain and hailstorm with thunder in most of the districts of the state including the capital Dehradun. Meteorological Director Vikram Singh said that light to moderate rain and hailstorm may occur at most places in Kumaon and Garhwal divisions of Uttarakhand state. Also, there is a possibility of snowfall in the higher reaches.There is a possibility of further drop in temperature. The maximum and minimum temperature is expected to be 22 degree Celsius and 10 degree Celsius.

Rain has affected life in entire Uttarakhand. The entire state is in the grip of cold as the temperature dropped due to overnight rains on Monday. There has been snowfall on the high peaks including Kedarnath, Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib.

Chances of rain will continue for the next one or two days

On the other hand, debris has come near Batnagad on Purnagiri road in Champawat district. Bulldozers have been used to remove it. The water level of the lakes and rivers of the state has also increased. The standing crop of wheat in Terai has been damaged by rain and strong wind. According to the Meteorological Center, there will be chances of rain for the next one or two days.

Intermittent rain continues from Monday night

It rained in Dehradun on Tuesday as well. It has been raining in Mussoorie, Rishikesh and surrounding areas since Monday. Heavy rain started in Haridwar from late Monday night. It rained intermittently throughout the night in Kotdwar and remained cloudy on Tuesday. Kotdwar, Uttarkashi, Roorkee, Haridwar, Rudraprayag have recorded a drop in temperature due to rain.
