Uttarakhand weather update: Rainfall forecast for next 3 days

There is a possibility of heavy rains across the state from Tuesday for the next three days. On August 22, the Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for heavy rains in Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital, Tehri and Bageshwar districts. At the same time, a yellow alert for rain has been issued for Haridwar, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Udham Singh Nagar and Pithoragarh districts.

Director of the Meteorological Center Bikram Singh said, a red alert has been issued for rain in Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts on August 23 and 24. Said, there is a possibility of heavy rains in all the areas across the state in these three days.

Chamba landslide death toll rises to 5

A car parked on the roadside was buried under the debris of a sudden landslide in Chamba on Monday. A four-month-old child, his mother and aunt were in the vehicle. It took six hours to rescue them. The car found after removing the debris was cut and the three including the mother-son trapped in it were taken out, but they had died. At the same time, two more bodies were removed from the debris late in the evening.
