Anti encroachment drive resumes in Dehradun

Encroachments were taken down amid protests in the Paltan Bazar by departmental teams led by the administration. The administration deployed three JCBs to break the marked encroachments in large numbers. The operation could not be interrupted due to heavy police force. The campaign started from Clock tower led by SDM Gopal Ram Benwal at 10 am on Wednesday morning. Four teams entered the market with three JCBs, four trucks and two small vehicles.

As soon as the they entered the market, the action of breaking the encroachment from JCB began. Then the traders protested heavily. This created a ruckus but due to the strictness of the police force involved in the campaign, traders could not stop the operation. Amidst the protests, three JCB plots broke the encroachment in the market.

The illegal construction coming to the pavement of the shops was uprooted. The balcony of shops from two to three floors were demolished from JCB. Remove Encroachment Owing to the strict attitude of the squad, the shopkeepers themselves started breaking the encroachment.

A crowd gathered during the campaign at Paltan Bazar. For this, the police had to remove the crowd repeatedly by showing strictness.
