Uttarakhand weather update: Monsoon not over yet in the state

The weather will remain dry with partly cloudy sky over the plains of Uttarakhand. There, there is a possibility of light rain at some places in the mountains.

It may rain in these areas

According to the Meteorological Center, on Sunday and Monday, there may be one to two rounds of lightning and rain with thunder at some places in Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Almora, Nainital, and Champawat districts. A yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in these five districts. Light to very light rain may occur at isolated places in the hilly areas of Garhwal region.

It was partly cloudy in most areas of the state on Saturday, due to which the heat and humidity worsened. Dehradun’s maximum temperature was 34.2 degrees Celsius more than normal and the minimum temperature was one degree more than normal at 25.8 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature of Pantnagar was two degrees above normal at 35.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 25.5 degrees Celsius. Mukteshwar’s maximum temperature was six degrees above normal at 27.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was two degrees above normal at 16.6 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of Tehri was recorded at 26.5 and the minimum temperature was 18.7 degree Celsius.

Monsoon has not departed from the state

According to Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, the pace of monsoon has slowed down in the state, but the monsoon has not left the state yet, so heavy rains may occur in some areas in the coming week. Especially in the five districts of Kumaon, there is a forecast of one to two spells of heavy rain for two to three days.
