Uttarakhand steps up Corona screeningat border amidst new corona variant threat

Health authorities are acting swiftly over new Corona variant threat which have stirred up the world. The World Health Organization has also issued a warning regarding this, after which an alert has been declared across India. At the same time, the Uttarakhand government and health department have also become alert for the prevention of new variants and about the increasing cases of corona virus in the state. The Uttarakhand government has increased surveillance on all the borders of Uttarakhand. Instructions have been issued to check all the passengers coming from outside the state and to check their corona report. Along with this, the Health Department has issued instructions to the CMOs of all the districts to keep individuals in home isolation for 14 days along with negative reports of all the people coming to Uttarakhand from other countries.

Recently, in Udham Singh Nagar district, a person has returned from Congo, South Africa, whose report has come negative but has been kept in 14-day isolation by the Health Department. Giving information, Health Secretary Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey said that strict vigil is being kept on the people coming from outside the state. On Sunday, Director General of Health Dr. Tripti Bahuguna held a meeting with the CMOs of all the districts through video conferencing regarding the new variant of covid. She has asked for checking and sampling of people coming from outside on the borders of the state. Along with this, instructions have also been given to increase the covid sampling at the district level. The Health Secretary said that the District Magistrates of all the districts have been instructed that if any passenger coming from outside states shows signs of corona, a 14-day quarantine should be followed after conducting a covid test.

Rapid antigen testing of police personnel

In Rishikesh, there has been a stir in the police department after some police personnel engaged in VIP duty of President Ram Nath Kovind were found corona infected. DGP Ashok Kumar has given instructions to conduct covid antigen test of all the policemen of the state on Monday.
