State Level Sports Mahakumbh 2023 begins in Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand state level sports Mahakumbh 2023 has started in Dehradun Raipur Sports College on Tuesday. 800 meter race was organized on this occasion. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Sports Minister Rekha Arya were present in the program. Meanwhile, both the guests honored the runners who stood first, second and third by giving them medals and certificates. Apart from this, CM Dhami announced to give sports kits to the players who stood first, second and third in the state level sports Mahakumbh.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the 38th National Games is to be organized in Uttarakhand next year. In which the hosting given to Uttarakhand is going to be a historic affair. He told that whatever responsibility is given to Uttarakhand, the state performs it well. In such a situation, he hopes that Uttarakhand will also fulfill the responsibility of National Games with full seriousness.
Event started from 2017
Before this, Sports Mahakumbh competitions were conducted at Nyaya Panchayat, Block and District level. The Sports Department has set a target of participation of 5 lakh players in Khel Mahakumbh 2023. In the format of Khel Mahakumbh, which started from the year 2017, every year players are honed in sports competitions across the state from Nyaya Panchayat level to Block level, then District level and finally State level. Every year the number of players participating in the Khel Mahakumbh is increasing.
